Irish Connections in Britain, Canada, Australia, and Beyond

An Irish.org editorial starter discussion. Share your own experience or question below.

Irish connections span many places, and the experience of finding a community can differ from one region to another. This thread invites introductions from Britain, Canada, Australia and anywhere else members live. It is not a claim that every place has the same institutions, events or traditions. Share your interests and questions in your own terms, whether your connection is longstanding, recently discovered or simply a wish to learn alongside other people.

  • What country and broad region would you like to share?
  • Which aspects of Irish culture or history interest you most?
  • What has helped you find a welcoming public cultural activity?
  • What would you like members in another region to understand about yours?

You can contribute without belonging to a club or having a family-history story. If discussing an actual organization, use its public name and current official information rather than private contacts or assumed event dates.

Share broad city or regional locations only. Never post home addresses, private phone numbers or another person’s contact details. Verify organizations and event information before making plans.
