A record collection is easier to use when each item is connected to a clear question. You might have a historical letter but no confirmed birthplace, or a census entry that raises a new question about an earlier generation. Share the kinds of sources you have consulted and the gap you are trying to address. This is not a request to upload your private archive. A short description of a historical record and its provenance is usually enough to begin.
- Which historical record currently provides your strongest starting point?
- Where did you obtain it, and have you recorded a reference?
- Which fact does it support, and what does it leave unanswered?
- What kind of additional evidence would help you evaluate the gap?
Members with different research experience can compare ways of organizing evidence. If suggesting a source, explain why it might fit the question and avoid promising that a particular record must exist.
Please leave out sensitive details about living people, identity documents and private contact information. Shared surnames are clues, not proof of a relationship.
